This amazing organisation was founded in 1995 with the sole aim of doing whatever is in their power to help Labradors who are less fortunate than we are. It is run by a merry band of volunteers who rely upon donations from supporters to raise the money needed to help these poor dogs, so please visit their site at www.helpalabrador.co.uk to find out more and get involved if you can.
Initially the rescue was chiefly concerned with providing a re-homing service but it soon evolved into much more than that. The team will move mountains to help the dogs who come to them needing help and just over a year ago they established a brand new Labrador Sanctuary. This means that not only can they continue to match dogs to the perfect new homes they so desperately need, the dogs are also able to spend their time 'in-between homes' in the most comfortable conditions possible!
The most recent venture is a new stall at Bygone Times, Eccleston, Nr. Chorley in Lancashire – items sold at this stall are all donated by supporters and friends of the rescue and the profits go right back to helping the dogs so if you are in the area, why not pop in and take a look?
Without the help of people like you, the team at the Sanctuary wouldn’t be able to continue their amazing work. If you think you might be able to help in any way, if you are thinking of giving a home to a Labrador and you think your future friend might be at the sanctuary, or if you would like any advice or support from the team, they would love to hear from you.
The aim of this page is to raise awareness of the work done at the Rescue. Much more detailed information can be found on the official website, as well as a couple of other sites whose links I have posted below.
Please help where you can. Thank you.

Lab rescue are launching an urgent appeal on behalf of Misty. She is a lovely 8 month old yellow labrador bitch who has come into rescue as she had developed hip problems. After undergoing x-rays to determine the problem, they have discovered that Misty has no hip sockets. This is a massive disability which will require major surgery to correct. The Rescue will do everything in their power to help this gorgeous little girl, but ultimately may not have the funds to do so. Her chances of finding a loving new home in the meantime are also lessened as people are reluctant to take on a dog needing expensive vet treatment.
The full appeal details can be found here, please take the time to have a look and help where you can. Thank you.
Finally, we have heard the wonderful news that little Misty has gone home - to a new loving family and a four-legged brother as well. This has made everyone at the Rescue so happy, they would like to thank everyone who has helped in whatever way. The fund will be running for the forseeable future, so that initial vet costs can still be covered. Full details can be found on the website.
